BPM light doesnt flash and crashing issues

I have had some issues with my virus ti snow, first of all seems to crash and i get a greyed out screen on my macbook pro telling me i have to restart i think this is due to a USB issue although i am unsure.

Second i have noticed my bpm light doesnt flash.

If anyone could shed some light on these issues that would be grand
