Does anybody have a schematic or service manual for a Virus B that they could send me?
I can see the (filled) note symbol on the screen when running MIDI data into the unit but I almost never get an output. On rare occasion's some patches will sound. Usually with distortion.
To rule out a currupted OS I reloaded OS 4.90 T and did a full reset (power on while holding down the "OSC 1" and "OSC 2" buttons).
All power looked good but just to be sure I Changed all of the electrolytic capacitors as well as the +5V_D, +5V_A, +3.3V_D, +8V_A, -8V_A regulator IC's since that seems to be a fix that has worked for others with silimar issues.
Looking at the Mute signals on the D/A converters with an oscilloscope I see a logic low. I wonder if this is dynamic (mute goes aways with notes) or if it's just supposed to be high in normal operation?
Since I hear sound sometimes I am assuming the DSP is OK, perhaps there is a power monitor circuit that could me muting the ouptuts (as would happen when power is switched off)?
