Why does the Ti2 always start in "single" mode?

Is there a sysex message which allows to change the mode -> "multi" mode like there is for earlier virus models?

mine starts in the mode it was in when turned off

my virus doesn't seem to emit any midi when changing to multi mode. What is the sysex that you say worked on earlier models?
