View Full Version : Why does TI(2) always fall back to SINGLE mode?

Not only does the TI2 always boot up in SINGLE mode, it does not respond to the Sysex message to switch to MULTI mode the way the Virus B and C do.

I use the TI2 connected to DAW via USB. I have to always press the MULI mode button every time I boot the DAW. I hate this.

I have never heard this mentioned online. Do people just put up with this, or is there a workaround?

Can anyone else comfirm this is the case for them?

i.e The Virus TI2 powers up in SINGLE mode and cannot be put into MULTI mode with a sysex message?

thanks

Hi there,
I own a Ti latest patch level.

If I switch to Multi, it comes up in Multi Mode.
But I am not a DAW user and the USB is only connected for saving data.
My MPCX is the master in standalone (by far not perfect...) for recorded midi data and changes to parameter.

I am currently digging deep in the parameters of the Ti - tiresom job, as Access has no secure list of it available for public. And it has changed between the different editions too.
I am configuring my Bitstream 3X, I just purchased 2nd hand, to have more control of the inside of the Virus.
I tried to find out which parameter is responsible for changing between the two modes - was not successful as yet.

Good luck,
R.

Thanks for your reply.

When you switch the power on the TI is the synth always in SINGLE mode?

There is a short sysex message string that puts a virus into SINGLE or MULTI mode which I have used with my Virus B and Virus C, but it does not work on the TI2 :(

no, my Ti (not 2) comes up in whatever I left it in - Single or Multi.

What is the sysex code you used?
As mentioned, they've changed some parameter....

If I send { 0xf0,0,0x20,0x33,0x01,0x10,0x72,0x0,122,2,0xf7 };
to my Virus B port, it will go from SINGLE to MULTI.
If I do the same to my Virus TI2, it stays in SINGLE.:(

Has anyone else noticed this issue?
