Well it all depends on those features they'd add, for ex. i didn't like those new arp patterns at all, i don't think it was something so important... couldn't they use that memory for something else ? :?
personnally i don't really need something completely different, i think we need to try 100% of the virus capacities first... it has so many possibilities

If Access want to take an even bigger share of market...they should bring out a 100% wavetable synth using the 'Virus' filters.....and leave the 'Virus' brand alone.

Access have nailed it with VA. I honestly cant see how it can get any better. MOre features? No thx I dont need them.

Personally, I think models run in 3's. There were 3 revisions of the Prohet 5, 3 revisions of the ARP Odesssey etc etc. Now lets have some sexy pure digital wavetable weeeeee.........

i think they should focus on incresing the virus polyphony to workstation amount
64-96 voices which means few more dsp parts and more ram

i think a modular will be the perfect choise for the new access synth
it doesnt have to be called a virus like clavia did with its nord modular\nm g2

just give me the virus oscs and filters and im happy and unlimited modulation and wiring posibilties and im happy :o

buttom line they should keep their products digital....

Who the hell needs 64 polyphony on a VA? Well, maybe then if you drown everything in unison so that all the patches sound like "CHAAAAAA".

Tomer=Trance 23.04.2004 10:04 AM

just to use all 16 midi channels of it and not to worry about runing out of poly

But who really needs that much poly? An averge VA user copes fine with current polyphony so how many of those people are willing to pay extra to get polyphony they really don't need? I think increasing polyphony just costs too much regarding the benefits and this is a bad drawback for the Virus when people are choosing a VA. This is much like the analog filter issue.

Tomer=Trance 23.04.2004 11:12 AM

well personaly i like to work with midi till the last second or if i want to manupulate audio when it comes to synths

Blank 23.04.2004 11:35 AM

I would say buy another synth then...I cannot see myself using just the virus for my songs...although the virus is good, its not the only and it can be overused if u have it running all 16 parts in each song...you will be known as that virus guy!!

the modular idea is good...im not much on wavetable myself...hell if we r going all out why not an FM subtractive synth with analogue filters :wink:

I didnt figure this topic would just go freaking crazy like this !!! :wink:

peace

well i do use soft synths and a nl but still i feel i dont have enough
