Demo kicks some serious ass 8O

8000 dollars
what homestudio can afford such a thing? :? i think its the ultimate tool for live gigs and studio. something jarra would have used on stage or orbital :D anyway do you guys think its only for math people? because the system itself is realy not very graphic and easy to control somewhat like max/dsp.... anybody tried that? my eays turned black when i saw it, couldnt even get sound out of it.... maybe i should stick to reaktor LOL  |
The Cool thing about Kyma is you do not have to be a Huge math guy to get good results (obviously it helps but not a must). It is 100x easeir than Max/DSP and others like those(don't get me wrong the software is very deep but you will never ever outgrow it). It comes with 1000+ presets and 360 modules to help get you started and each can be opened to show the makeup and how the preset and module was designed. Kind of like the Nord Modular G2. No this system is not for your average hobbiest, or home studio. However for anyone that is currently getting their tracks or sfx ect used in projects or has a Homestudio that is making $$ than it is a piece of equipment/software that can be of great value. 8000.00 is for an almost fully loaded system which can be found in George Lucas's Skywalker Ranch and used for all the star Wars movies, But you can start with a basic system for 3,500 which is around the price of a new DAW or Keyboard Workstation. If you can get your head around Reaktor you could use a Kyma system.

Well, I stumbled accross a killer deal and could not pass it up. I just got a Capybara 320 Kyma System. A new Recording studio was starting up and they had just purchased it from Symbolic Sound when the Partners went there seperate ways and sold off all the new euipment they had purchased, it has never been used! Well I will give my own review of this system when it shows up in the next week or so. My wife is gonna kill me!

2950.00 and it is the new model expanded with 8 outs/ins and two additional processors with Kyma X.1 brand new in original box and has not been used. That is a savings of almost 50% Could not pass it up. Now I just need a quick side job or two to pay for it before the wife see's the bill...She knows about the Virus TI preorder but not this...

Wake,
Well hows it coming along? Have you managed to get your head around it yet? SOund? Resynthesis??? |
It has not shown up yet! I just found out it did not ship till today so looks like next week. I have the Kyma X revealed book which I have been reading and I have managed to come to a few conclusions...
1. This thing is pretty amazing! 2. You will never outgrow it. 3. It is very very deep. It is going to be like the Nord Modular G2 for a while...just using the presets and seeing how they were created and messing around with them tweaking them to infinity. The processing side I have my head around which is one of the main reasons I sprung for one...gonna mainly use it to process and mangle vocals, samples and other patches created from other hardware for a while. The code, scripting, and creation of your own algorithms is what will keep this thing interesting for the next decade. I can not wait for it to show up so I can mess with it. I to will be getting some new web space soon so I will be able to post some stuff too. I will give my full review of it when it shows up. Sounds like you are having a good time with your V-synth.... I love mine it is a killer tool for sound design. I hope they release version 2 in the next week or two it will only add more maddness. I kind of went crazy over the past 6 months and picked up a lot of gear which has been on my list for some time but when the TI finally does arrive I am done for quite a while. I have to start saving to upgrade my video services to HD. |
great deal
let use hear it when you get it. |
