people will be listening to generative music created by artifical intelligence software/robots they've created themselves - artist/musician/programmers unite.

I cannot see people still using synths and making the same elctronic muic to the same rules. I think one day....someone will invent a new standard....new scales....new chords.....ones which may sound strange but become acceptble to use. Its an interesting fact that chords and their progressions only sound 'pleasing' to us because its so ingrained in our brains to hear those harmonics. It is quite possible to use strange combinations of chords...and then over time for them to seem as normal as C majors.

What do you think....

If this is true then i wonder why the chord system havent changes through the last 2-300 years. I belive that we find a basic chord sound nice because of psysic laws. The frequensies match together in a way that our ears like because the frequensies "sing" together. I think we will still make 98% of our music in 4/4 with basic major and minor chords. The thing that will change is the sound. We will mix music catagories so that new will be made. There will be 100% acustic trance and they will scratch their way through clasical music. Everything will be as it is today just mashed up and mixed together in all thinkable (and unthinkable) ways. And we will mix it and play it in surround...

Edit: oh yeah, and the new "Virus Brainwave" will be out. Think of a sound and there you go. No more tweaking

They will probably be going through a 2080's revival!

In the 1970's they said we would be living on the moon by now.
I can barely afford to live on the Earth!!

Music is only going to go to the next level of creativity when America finally realises all those little aliens and let them do the music....Star Wars style

i dont think little aliens have any kind of culture all they do is blow up planents and fly around with their bigass spaceship. :D

DIGITAL SCREAMS 11.10.2005 08:26 PM

Tommer....where do you think Access got their slogan 'Access universe and Starship Access' from? Aliens have already been here and they influence companies to make musical instruments.
