I must admit Ive been in a real lull for producing my usual trance/chill, so I started having a mess around with jazz - Im allways envious of those really good jazz keys players and want to get better. My first humble forays were just plain depressing and really brought home how crap my keys playing skills are when confronted with a regular paino and no knobs to mess with :)

[Has anyone ever tried modulating the sound of an accoustic piano using its lid???? - just a thought.. ;)]

Anyway - decided to go gets some lessons from a real good jazz tutor and am back to being inspired and pruductive again.

Also suddenly made huge leaps ahead with drumming in the last few days and finally starting to bang out some really cool new flowing grooves (by my limited standards) that I would never have dreamed up programming a drum machine.

Anyway - happy to hear you getting productive again - nice one :)


BTW - my theory is its all the crappy xmas songs you hear everywhere it this time of year that completely kills creativity - They should be outlawed!!!

gary, glad to hear it. It's such a great feeling to have that inspiration and motivation come back. I know because I went through a slump as well not long ago. As someone else pointed out, we all seem to go through it at one time or another. And it sure feels damn good when the music starts flowing again :)
