Isn't it quite absurd that one reasons why some nations has set economic sanctions on North Korea is that they might sell the nuclear weapons to anti-Western countries like for an example Iran. If they set hard economic sanctions on North Korea there's really in no time no other way for NK to get funds than smuggle weapons.
But all this hassle about NK attacking with the warhead is all bollocks. The power of a nuclear weapon is not in that it will be detonated to cause massive destruction, but in that it could be detonated. It's like a home insurance. In this century only US has been irresponsible enough to flash a usage of nuclear weapons in military operations.
I believe the main reason why the leaders are upset of the successful nuclear test is that the nuclear weapon gives NK a good trump card for the political card game. Reminds me of a bit on how West manages the colon- err, the "developing countries" - Do like we say, not like we do. If I recall right it's only ten years ago when France did new nuclear tests against IAEA's regulations and all the uproar there was were "Bad boy France, bad" accompanied with winks and everything continued like nothing was happened. Well, maybe it wasn't such a bad thing because France is a pal country.
Now NK gets stamped on much less when it has the warhead, so the NK's vision of more stable East is not actually total Kim Jong Il's poppycock. But the complete unstability of the country, really unpredictable actions and total lack of inside information to outside adds a bit of excitement on the case. We really don't know anything about what's going on in there but I really doubt they are planning a war.
Instead of threats and economic sanctions the world should just swallow the fact that NK has the warhead and it's not going to change. I hope there soon will be meetings of the leaders in which they discuss the future in a more constructive spirit instead of threatening.
