Sad really. While I didn't have my hopes too high, a hoax like this is only amusing to 1 or 2 people. If we can just get rid of people, the Internet would be a perfect place :)

Companies do press-releases announcing details at different times throughout the whole of the NAMM show, until Sunday 21st.
So there's still a tiny flicker of hope. Maybe it could be legit, but released after NAMM, due to Access not wanting to repeat the "announce something and not deliver" debacle of the initial TI release. If it was a hoax it is certainly an elaborate one. Like, the PWM thing, not many would know about that unless it is a user from here and they read the PWM thread 3 yrs ago, or it's a technique that was picked up elsewhere. However, I know BenC, Marc and other Access employees were active on the forums here at the time of the PWM/Sync thread, which would make it odd if it weren't for real. I don't reckon anyone would spend that much time creating the data for the whole PDF if it was for a hoax. If they did, it'd be pretty sick, in a way. Furthermore, no Access employees have yet denied anything, which they probably would have done had it been fake, to save face. The origin of the PDF is undoubtedly in question, though! |
On the offchance, anyone visiting NAMM this weekend?
Found Access' location at booth #6900 ![]() |

Awesome!! Great news indeed.

Question is, will it be a free upgrade for current Ti owners?
I'm sure it will be... if not then i'm also sure that all hell will break loose.lol |

Access certainly haven't charged for any upgrades in previous releases. In fact it's almost become tradition that they release at least one major upgrade after they've released a synth for free.
As far as I know... Virus A went from OS v1 to v2.8 Virus B continued from OS v3 to v4.9 C continued from OS v5 to v6.5 (Up until the TI, the OS's were a continuation/incremental from the previous Virus hardware synths) They've reset the OS number back to v1 for the TI, so it will (likely) go from OS v1 to OS v2.xx The TI2 (if there ever is one) will likely continue from OS v3 or similar. But this is just a guess at best. |
Would be nice now that NAMM is almost over, if Access were to at least post an update on what they are intending. No need for dates, just something informing the userbase of what they are currently doing.

Yea i'm sure you won't be far of the mark with your guess Timo.
