When I said 'cover'....i didnt mean you do covers lol....i meant to say you cover the genre of industrial hehe  The Korg MS20 is a fine synth.....capable of very nice piercing sounds. The only thing I dont like about the MS20 is the screechy nature of the filter. Basses lack balls....but the leads can be awesome...as well as the blips and bleeps etc. Its not a strong bass synth imo. Its cool to cover Phil Collins....expecially if your into early Genesis songs that use a lot of Prophet 5. Ive made almost identical P5 sounds....ill dig out an MP3.... DS |

1) Turn the Pro-One on for 10 mins and let that baby warm up 2) Make sure the master tune knob is set in the middle position whilst warmup takes place. 3) Make any desired sound on the Pro-One (at this point whether its in tune to other instruments...is not important). I think its important to stress here: If you plan to use a one oscilator sound...thats fine...tune it to that. If you plan to use two oscilators thats also fine...but tune it to that. You see, sometimes if you tune an analog synth when only using one oscilator....then you introduce a second oscilator....it might require another retune, albeit a subtle one. You can save your self some grief here....if you make the sound in advance before you go for a full tuning. Once the sound is made....stick it into 'drone' mode or dependign how the envelopes are set up....you may need to repeatedly trigger the sound by tapping the key or sticking it into 'repeat' mode. Hold down a C or something......then turn the mod wheel up or down till its in tune with a C on some other instrument....then play a few scales i suppose just to make sure. Well thats what i do bud....seems to work fine for me! If you have any serious problems....then maybe you should really think about getting your Pro-One serviced....that would eradicate difficulties in tuning for sure. 4) Yes I think your right....the general tune knob (as is the case on most analog synths.....lacks the kinda range to make them particularly useful). I cheat somewhat by using the mod wheel to set the tuning in relation to other gear. You could of course use a guitar tuner for a more precise tuning.....but i always do it by ear...and hence get a nice sound because its always a fraction out of tune lol. If you want real fun and games...try tuning a Korg Mono-Poly, Pro-One, Prophet 5 and Jupiter 8 all at the same time....and keep them in tune hehehe.... Hope this helps u man DS |
i didnt know the sh2 is that expensive!
an indigo1 would go for around 1200 euro,so is the sh2 :?: |
OK we know my opinion on this matter....but in an effort to minimise bias.....ill link you a thread on another forum to somebody who uses the SH2
