The sickening truth is I sold both of them plus a Kawai KII and bought a virus b desktop in 2000. :roll: no regrets so far. I miss the JX more than the JD though.

Actually my first synths were Access Virus KC, JP8080 and FR777, all at once...What a mistake!

Never buy more than 1 synth at once hah

I like the JP8080 for its ease of use and I really like the supersaw osc.
Virus KC was good but programming all these knobs on the tiny screen wasnt my thing. I'm looking forward for the TI tho!

FR777 was a big waste of money at first(especially since I paid a big price for it) but I'm starting to like it much more since most of my sync problems in my setup are gone.

when i was 17 i bought a juno 106, didn`t have a clue what i had just purchased, just thought it looked cool.

not having a clue at that time about multitimbral instruments and sequencing, i also bought an alesis MMT8 sequencer.
for about 2 weeks i couldn`t understand why i could only play/record one sound at a time.
i actually phoned the shop to ask their advice lol.

it all became clearer when i soon after bought a yamaha SY85.

Mostly cause absolutely everything was assignable to whatever CC you wanted. (no messing around with sysx)
Actualy you could program entire patches with it using nothing but CC's

The step seq was really interesting as well, but you needed to program it with an editor, cause the menus were too screwed up.
They actualy implemented it exactly like the classic modular step seq's where you set each knob to a note value. Only prob was only 8 knobs so you had to do the first 8 notes, then witch modes to the second 8 notes.


The VA was pretty sweet on it too. I still have yet to hear a better prophet 5 emulation.
Wasnt the BEST VA on the planet, but it was the best bang for the buck.

I deeply regret selling my an1x. I should see if the guy i sold it to still has it.

Mine was the ms2000r. It was like Christmas and it was around Christmas I got it in Japan. I was really eager to use it but had to wait to get back to Korea. It dulled the trip. Now I want to get rid of it. It's not a bad synth though, I can live without it.

My very first was an mc303. Then I returned that for an mpc2000. Not really a synth but good enough.

first synth was a virus b desktop bought in october last year. that wasnt my first experience with hardware - that goes to the nord lead 2x which i loved. i think i prefer it to the virus cuz it feels more natural to program and i liked the brighter harder and cleaner sound of it. i wont sell my virus b though.

The first "keyboard" I played was a Casio VL-tone wich had calculator and some "synth"functions also :D
The first real soundediting I did on my Commodore 64.

My first "synth" was Emu XL-7 but my first synth-experience was a demo-version of Rebirth.

Edit: Anyway i didn?t really learn very much about synths and sound-programming before i got my Virus C :D

The first synth I ever bought+played on was a year and a half ago, and it was a yamaha an1x. The second synth I bought was the korg prophecy 9 months ago. The third was the virus indigo that I bought about 6 months ago.
The only synth I still own is the virus indigo, and the only synth that I regret having sold is the korg prophecy. The yamaha was pretty nice but the prophecy was just way more fun for me to mess around on. If I had a job I would probably end up buying so many synths that my room would glow green+blue+red from all the synth displays and leds.
