technomonster.

Power cords can interfere with digital and analog cables alike. As a general rule, never run an audio or visual cable parallel with a power cord unless it is at least 1/2 a metre away. The cables can intersect at right angles with no problem, but never run them parallel.

If you really want to get the max performance out of your studio, have a look at some balanced power solutions or power conditioners. A cheap way around this is to buy hospital grade power cables for all of your equipment. You will get better performance from everything in your system from the d/a converters to the quality of the picture on your screen (Will actually make a massive difference to powered studio monitors too). Electricity is a dirty messy pain in the arse and the more you can control the quality of electricity being supplied to your equipment, the better it will perform.

Or if you really want to get serious, get the power company to install a dedicated power feed for your studio, run the computer and monitor off the existing supply and run all of your audio equipment from this dedicated feed. 8)

Hopefully the Virus gets one of those... maybe after you lick it, it becomes USB2.

Hopefully my virus won't demand flowers for its birthday, nor shouts around when I watch football after licking it!!! :D
Though I would get very angry if someone else would lick it after I did! 8O 8O 8O

Don't take gopal's advice or you will go broke. LCD monitors don't emit ANY radiation. Hospital grade power cords will make 0% difference to your setup. If all analog leads are grounded properly and there is no break in any shield, there should be no interference issues at all. Just think about a PC soundcard, which can produce nice, clean audio and yet it is sitting in the middle of the worst possible noise environment there could be. It's all about layout and shielding.
