That explains it then

To be honest i really dont like the reverb in the Virus and never use it. It sounds really metallic and strange.

I quite like the ambience reverb.

I don't have a TI, though. Only an Indigo.

Metallic....
Nah, you can't mean that... :?
What about the C models reverb, metalic & strange too?

I think it's on par with the best of TC, which means plugs like MegaVerb & Classic Verb and also the older reverbs from TC3000 & that one within Fireworx.
No complaints regarding the quality from my point of view.

PS: Metallic, well, Vanguards reverb is what I consider as metallic-sounding! :P

That means you'r out of this discussion or what...
Just kidding. :D

Yep, that reverb is killer on ambient leads/ plucks and of course stringy pads!

Yeah thats just how it sounds to me. Im using a Virus B but im sure the C is the same. Its ok i guess (miles better than vanguard  ) but theres just something i dont like in the tone

I use TC Classicverb and really like the sound. Megaverb is nice but not as good imo

Yes, I totally agree!
I found the VSS3 to be the most convenient and best sounding reverb for most textures and musical styles, only if I could afford to have it installed permanently... 8)

Have you tried that CSR (Classic Studio Reverb Plugin) from IK Multimedia or that Blue Verb from Nomad Factory?
I was in search for some quality reverb plugs for my cymbals/ hi-hats and long crashes and other percussive effects type of sounds and thought these 2 in partucular might be useful for this, but I haven't had he time to try them out yet... :?

The VSS3 is nice, I tried the demo of this & was impressed. Love all the different room settings.

Yeah!
Pitty the price is well over 600 bucks! :?
Do you think it's worth this slightly high price?
It definitely is verstile and sounds extremely good! :P

JayTranzmit 03.09.2006 04:18 PM

Personally I think it's worth purchasing if you want those lovely tails on your verbs. If you look at it objectively, it's in the same price bracket as something like the Lexicon MPX1 although I do find it hard to justify buying software when you could be buying the hardware equivelant.

Depends on the set up & how you work. If I was software only then I wouldn't hink twice.
