SP2 for the TI - recommended?

I was wondering whether updating my DAW OS would make any improvements in regard to my current TI problems (mainly the arp timing thing).

since I have almost no other reason to run SP2 with my DAW, I would really like to know if it has any benefits regarding the TI operation.

anyone?

Best,
midi.

Thx Girl. I`m really trying to nail down the cause of my problem and can`t yet figure out if its my Daw, my sequencer, my TI or a combination of all. any piece of information or advice could be helpful...

You said you know the "Bobby moore" when it comes to DAWs so you know all about the following http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/Dec0...sician1202.asp ...... http://www.thegirlnextdoor.de/XPtuning.htm it's standard right...So i personally think it's your seqencer or your soundcard..As i said before the higher we put our Latency settings on the Motu 828 MK2 the more f***ed up our arpeggiator gets and everything else seemed OK.
I would also try another seqencer, Were using Logic 5.5.1. If i remember rightly down at the Music show in Frankfurt at the start of the year i saw Nuendo (Which is what your using,Right?) and it looked a spitting image of Cubase so maybe you should have a bash with Cubase.also borrow another soundcard..Just for test purposes.
Also Something i have had real problems with in the past is NTFS.I couldn't get Logic 5.5.1. to run on it so i changed to FAT 32 (I had to Format the drive with an old Win 98 boot CD to get it into that state) now it's running sweet.. But everyone seems to think different http://www.musicxp.net/hardware_tips.php ..... http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=16406 Fat32 for me

A long shot....Maybe it's a USB issue???????????? BIOS update...

I find it hard to imagine that a file system has got anything to do with a tight arpegio...and in any case, FAT32 is not really an option for me these days.

Yep, Nuendo is very much like cubase (witch I also own). unfortunately, cubase seem to exhibits the exact same symptoms as Nuendo in regards to the TI. it seems that some cubase users (like Ben) are able to have very good host sync and exports timing, while others seem to be struggling in that area. I`m only curious in regard to the other factors at play here... :?

Well, I`v tried the following:

- Deactivating USB legacy support in BIOS.

- No USB devices plugged except the Ti and the Nuendo dongle.

- Uninstalling the USB ports in XP`s device manager.

non of these made any real difference.
