Which nord lead to get

Im going to be ordering a nord lead today but please if anyone owns one what are the main differences between 2 and 3 and the 2xl or what ever ones they do in between??

Is it worth paying that bit extra to get the 3 or not??

If you could please shine some light on this topic that would be very much appreciated!! :D

i would go for the modular 1 or nl 2
in the price of the nl3 you can get yourself a g2 modular which is a whole different league

That is what i would choose also - an Nord Modular and a NL1.

yeah thats pefect both out of both worlds

I'd say a modular too and I have a NL2 at the moment (which I love by the way). The modulars have much more possibilities.

If you are choosing between the NL2 and the 2X (I think that's what it's called), I'd go for the 2X as with the straight NL2 you will need to buy a PCMCIA card to be able to download patches or store more than 40 sounds. PCMCIA cards are quite expensive now days, and also a little difficult to find.

Ive been listening to Manuels patches of the Nord 3 just to see what its capable of!

But is there much diffrence in sound between nord 2 and Nord 3??

From what i have been noticing the nord G2 mod does emulate the Nord leads...why not spend at bit more and get something even more powerful...but i still will buy a nl3 later...the nl2 im sure sounds slightly different...they say it has been completely recoded (NL3)...the NL2x has the newer hardware that the NL3 has but the same codeing as the NL2
im sure any of them u buy you will be happy with...but remember you have to route FX to them...they have no onboard FX

aaagghhh! Now then...

As I wont be using a mixing desk anymore or at least for the time being! Is it possible to route a nord out the outputs in to an fx box then in to soundcard (DELTA 10/10)? more then likely you can! but would be easier just having them as an aux on desk!!

Though I usually use good pluggings for effects... it would be nice to have some sort of verb and delays whilst playing about in midi! :P

Im really having second thoughts on not having a desk! though im sure theres ways round everything!!!
