Sysex patch dumps using cubase SX3

When I load a midi file in cubase to dump into my virus and press play on the transport bar, this is what happens.

My Midex 8 blinks all of of its inputs then proceeds to lock up and decides it doesn't want to output anymore until I turn the computer off and turn it back on again. The virus captures only the first patch and that it. Anyone know what could be wrong here. I was told there is a write protection on the Virus C but I sure don't see it anywhere in the manual or on the piece. Thank you so much for anyone's reply.

Is there a program that I can use other then cubase to do the dumps?

1. Reduce the tempo in SX
2. Go to PREFERENCES, MIDI Filter, uncheck "Record SysEx"
3. Go to device manager, Direct MIDI and check "Use System Time"
4. Report if it works ;)

Thats actually my default. I use 60bpm to try and send the patches. Something ele is really odd, after the midex 8 locks up. The Virus C shows that it is still recieveing SysEx data until I reset the interface. But the patches aren't showing up.

Should the virus be on a certain lcd screen when taking in the dump. I.E. should I have it on bank A if I am forcing it to Bank A? How long should it take to get the patches?

Thanks for the reply mate.

Unless you sped it up later (after the dump) I don't think you have to.
