Virus TI editions

is every TI that was built from 2004 til today exactly the same or have they updated it slightly every once in a while?

Hardware wise? They've stayed the same, except for the TI|2 obviously. The only updates were software based, which all TIs can make use of. So, to my knowledge, a 2004 TI|1 is no different to a 2008 TI|1. There may be slight different components between different runs, but who knows.
