(((Latency with Ti)))

I have been having issues with this for a while now. My Virus Ti has been drifting in and out. Only way to reset it is either hit panic mode which sometimes works or reset my ASIO driver in Cubase SX. As of now my ASIO is my Motu 2408. I'm running a total of 3 patches on this one song on my Ti and i have literally restarted the driver and Cubase SX 20 times :(

I'm losing time on this and need some help.

Anyone know what I can do optimize latency and get this thing working right?

Thanks fellas

Bump...

Anyone???? :(

Hi AznTI,

is it more of an audio drift issue than latency? Meaning, when you hit play, the audio out of the TI is in sync with the rest of your song, but as it continues to play (and possibly loop), the audio from the TI starts to drift and get out of sync? Are the patches arps by chance, or just standard midi tracks sent to your TI?

Eeeehhh.......Whats up Doc? hehe (sorry had to do it...LOL)

But in all seriousness...

All audio in Cubase is in sync. It will stay in sync if I don't hit stop and never drifts. BUT, when I that space bar again...forget it....ITS OFF :(

I have to reset the driver in Cubase and pray that it works...LOL!

Sometimes it works sometime it doesn't :(

And 2 patches are arped. The other one is a bassline.
And as of now they are midi tracks within cubase.
Haven't dumped down to audio yet because its not in sync :(

Hope that answers your question.

What can I do DOC? :)

if I remember correctly, the space bar starts and stops playback (haven't used cubase for a while). So when you first start the song, everything stays in sync, no matter how long you let it play and no matter how many times the song (or section) loops. Then you hit the space bar to stop playback. Then you hit the spacebar again to restart playback and the TI is now out of sync?

hmmm, not too sure about this one.
Have you tried sending an email to Access tech support? they respond pretty quickly.

Thats exactly what happens. Only way to fix it is reset the MOTU ASIO in Cubase.

I'll try Access and see what they say.

Thanks meng

Solution - just don't stop your song!! ;)

What is your buffer setting?

Buahaha! Tried that. LOL!

Buffer is at 512. Any lower and I start to hear audio glitches.

I forgot to ask, are you sending your audio from the TI to cubase via the usb cable or using the analog jacks.

A couple of tests to try would be variations of connections - ie
1. USB for both midi and audio
2. USB just for midi, audio over analog
3. Midi via midi cable and audio over analog
4. Midi via midi cable and audio over usb (not sure if you can do this)

I'm only using the USB cable.

When I'm pretty much done with my idea I mix down each part and do an audio export in Cubase. This way everything stays digital and I don't send the signal to the analog outs.

I have tried the other way (analog outs) before but the latency was killing me and you can't use VC properly. I was told to just use the USB cable and do everything within VC. I like it this way...more efficient if you ask me.

Hope that answers your questions.
