Nord Lead 3

Hey guys I got my Virus C a couple of months ago now and I'm still getting to know it as I'm new at the whole synthesis thing, but I need a keyboard as I only got the desktop Virus. The Nord Lead 3 has caught my attention, as I have heard some very nice sounds made on it. How do its sounds compare to the Virus? Is it easier to program? Any opinions before I go and buy one? Thanks!

i don't own a nordlead but as far as i know, it is very easy to program since all its sound parameters are on its front panel and you don't have to go through any menu (personnally i don't care if there are menus or not, anyway), just tweak the knobs! AND its sound is definetly one of the best ever, i think people are unanimous on this here....

Ive owned a Nord 3. I dont think its particularly easier to program than a Virus C.....just quicker.

Obviously the N3 benefits from having no menues and a dedicate knob/button for every parameter.....but with it comes a slight reduction in flexibility. Personally I think the N3 and Virus C are the all time best VA combo. You will have the warmer/darker sounds of the Virus and the brighter/transparent sounds of the N3.

As far as keyboard action goes......the Virus KC has a far superior action and is 61 keys. The N3 has 49 keys and is spongy in feel.

You'll be able to make some cool 'Transformers' type fx with the N3's FM. hehe

Good to see another Ausi invading the board! :D

The Nord 3 is a great synth for sure. A friend of mine has one back in Ausi and he has made some really nice sounds on it. I have to admit though, if I was going to buy another Nord I'd probably buy a G2 instead - more flexibility.
