Cutoff values that lives their own life? (SOLVED)

Sometimes when I adjust the filter cutoff button on my virus rack classic the cutoff value suddenly jumps to 127. This seems to happen only when I adjust the parameter slowly, never when I turn it fast. I can live with it since it nerver happens when the device receives signals from my sequencer. But sometimes you get really surprised when the value suddenly jumps completely and the filter is fully open. It can cause some pretty nasty transients to my speakers though...

happends mostly in the filter section :(

Ok. So there isn't really anything to do about it?

Check my post on Jumpy knobs, there are few of us with the same problem and Access cant fix it.

Best email them and get on their case about it, the more of us who email the more seriously they will take it.

solved? how?

My experience with 'infinite' type rotary-encoder knobs and jog-dials are that they can often be finicky, erroneously jumping or skipping lots of values depending on the speed that you happen to twist them. You could try compressed air, or Isopropyl Alcohol (or Deoxit) if you have them lying around. But often only a full knob replacement can solve those affected.
