Analog vs. Digital

Who cares?

Now go make a killer tune and stop f@%King around.

That was my newly found, down and dirty, I mean business attitude.

You like?

mitchiemasha 31.07.2009 02:12 AM

That settled that arguement. I like very much.

Don't forget:
Pirates vs. Ninjas

Honestly, Analog is great an all audiophilistic, but in the end, whatever is produced is going to be .wav at best if not 320kbps MP3. So in the end we're listening to Digital.

Yes, who cares?

I mean who is really listening to your song and saying hey there is a analog synth....

I am very happy with digital and I don't need or want any real analog gear.

When you turn on an analog gear you have to wait 20 minutes before playing because the circits must be heated to the right temperature...........

No, thank you I don't need this anymore.

Today the DSP are powerfull enough to recreate fat sound like the analog ones. The Virus sounds really fat. As fat as an analog no problem.

Today I don't miss any analog board and keep in mind one day you wont be able to repair those old analog boards because the vital pieces aren't produced anymore. So once those boards are technically dead forever.

what are you talking about? hardware synth is here to stay for a while... stick with your softsynth and you can make good music, but dont think hardware are going anywhere or wont be supported anytime time soon

Seriously as long as the Virus TI can produce those yummy fat kid eating cake sounds, I'm good! Which I know the TI is the most of fats, fat enough to make that kid obese! hahahah ;)

Fat vs Thin
Tight vs Loose
Wet vs Dry

Holy shit, what I am saying, they all have huge differences! :) Get it?

There are great Analogue machines, and there are great Digital machines, but for all those that think Analogue is dead just run your Virus into a Filterbank, play a Minimoog along side it's soft sister, or do a few slow sweeps on a MS20.

The feeling of playing an instrument that has unique character (even if it's quirky and plays up) just helps with the creative process. I have been trying to swap my VC for a Sherman for ages, and no one that i know with one here isn't keen on the idea - wonder why... :)

@ sdrr0

You didn't get my post and next time when you answering read carefully, ok?

I was writing about analog and digital synth and not hardware and software synth. Get it now???

I still have hardware gear but non of them is an analog.... understand now??

And I was saying that I am not interested in analog gear anymore (analog gears are: Andromeda A6, Minimoog, Macbeth and so on....digital gears are: Virus, Electribes, Fantom, JP8000 and so on...) see now the difference???

I mean if some want to spend a lot of money for such things then go for it, but won't do this anymore.
