Plans for Summer...

Hello there Wankers,

This summer I'm taking time off from school and doing a bunch of shite that's needed doing for quite some time. I'll have 3 months (mid May - mid August) to:

(1) Paint my deck (been dragging that out for a few years)
(2) Get my left bicep reanchored to the top of rotator cuff (arthroscopic surgery, not a huge deal, but a set back, only leg work for a few weeks)
(3) Organize ALL my PC files, optimize my home network, etc.
(4) Totally reload my DAW, assemble new desk, mess with new gear, etc.
(5) Record three full tracks EP format with my friend Roger or else we must throw ourselves to the Tigers in the Miami Zoo.
(6) Go to a good show since I missed the Ultramuiscfestival 10 in Miami for the first time in 2 years.
(7) Paint my bedroom and bathroom, thouch up the rest of the house.
(8 ) Build the foundation for a dog kennel in my back yard so I can buy a Doberman in a few years.
(9) Take kids on vacation!!! Always expensive!
(10) Take Mrs. Hall on vacation, always expensive too but always very fun.
(11) Drop a few DJ sets, hopefully a private party or two.

Damn, I'm tired thinking about all that. Is anybodty else's summer totally committed yet or am I the only bastard in this boat?

Where's OVM and Juho? How much is a cheap ticket to Vantaa? Surely I can squeeze that in somewhere, hopefully before I paint the deck...

;)

Nice plan Unleashed Project. I like how you rolled purchasing 3 pieces of gear into one task, I'll try that on Mrs. Hall next time she mentions how much I spent on audio toys. ;)

Our plans were;

1. Move to the new apartment
2. Vacation and that would mean go whereever we felt like.
3. Buy a new bicycle and fix Ausa's bicycle
4. Vacation and that would mean do whatever we felt like.
5. Just enjoy the summer.

But since we got the lovely 15.000:- SEK bill it will probably be something like this

1. Move to the new apartment
2. Hopefully loan a bicycle and fix Ausa's bicycle
3. Borrow a house in Tyresö (as it would be free for us!)
4. Enjoy the summer in Stockholm

Well, overall.. it will be a good summer anyways.

If any UAVF-members are going to Stockholm.. Warn me! I don't wanna see HC's poo live, Alex would probably just flex his muscles at all the lovely blonde girls, Matsa - he'd be the same but just complain even more at me english. Juho, I'd show him a jolly good time around the weird spike-collar-kinda-clubs

1.) Gain enlightment
2.) Goto Scotland, also Cyprus for photo shooting
3.) Become a bit fatter
4.) Clean my apartment for real
5.) Spend less time on internet
6.) Do tribal dances for bett summer weather.

1. Remove fireplace in sitting room & lay new floor. Redecorate room.
2. Lay new floor in dining room. Redecorate room.

(Brother in law + family coming for younger daughter's 1st communion in June therefore my wife has said 1 & 2 WILL BE DONE BY THEN.)

3. Move piano from my late mother's house to ours.
4. Clear & sell Mum's house (before council tax becomes due in May).
5. Move both daughters into a larger, shared bedroom and convert the old room into a music room.

6. Work out how my TI Keyboard works!
7. Work on some tracks with my guitarist mate who said he could help with tasks 1 & 2.

Piece of cake really.

Dude! You've made me feel great about my summer, becaues you're busier than me! Thanks Bro. Now I can probably relax a little bit.

Also, I see that your wife and my wife has mastered mandating project deadlines. How do they do that???

;)

You've heard the old phrase "A woman's work is never done..."?

We need to add 3 more words - "by a woman"

BWAAHHH!! ROFLMAO!!! The weaker sex, whatever. My wife got me good a few years ago. She spoke with one of our neighbors and found out they were having a BBQ at 4:00 PM that afternoon. So, she asked me if I would like to go to it (at about 12:30 PM), and of course I said "Yes." Then she said "Great. Then "we" need to mow the lawn, get my car washed, and gas it up too." Who do you think got to do all that?

How sophisticated of a setup are you planning for your music room? I converted my garage into a den/office/guestroom/studio. It's my lair. I just had four bad ass prints framed on box canvas and hung them on the wall to liven up the room. My PA speakers are wall mounted on the back wall, two desks run along it, one my DAW the other my schoolwork PC. It's not acoustically treated at all, but it actually doesn't sound half bad in there as the back wall is covered with three bookcases loaded with all my old textbooks (and my wife's too) and there's carpet on the floor in there so there has got to be some dampening effect from all that. Will post pics soon. I just bought a "Gemini L Desk" (available in cherry/silver OR maple/black) for $89 from Staples. It's a great desk for a DAW (It has a second shelf which can hold some small nearfields + a LCD monitor; which can be modded to be more heavy duty of course) and delivery is free, a greaty deal compared to the shitty Studio RTA creation station for $199 + $70shipping from Musician's Friend.

Time to go to work. Isn't it ironic that work can be restful compared to life at home? ;)

Old Vantaa Man 10.04.2008 11:18 AM

Alex, just buy a bloody ticket to Vantaa International. We're the Airport City gateway to the fekking world ffs.

A woman's work is never done, indeed. That's a top line. Defo stealing that for use in future English classes. The only joke I do about women is when I teach prefixes; un, il, dis, mis, im, in, etc.

"Now. Ladies. The next word is "logical" so you won't understand that anyway. But guys, what is the prefix we use to make the antonym?"
