What, you mean there's no logical conversation path from Virus, to Emu romplers, to laptop vs. desktops to OS wars? :p

You gotta admit, the forum isn't exactly brimming with new product announcements or upgrades from Access lately, so any posts are good posts at this point.

Hehehe, maybe I'll see if I can bring it back OT, then. :)

Nothing much has changed, I still don't have time to program the XL, so it's not providing much benefit.

A friend of mine has an Akai sampler (S3000) and Korg Wavestation AD he's not using, so I'll borrow them for a few months and see how they fit into my setup. I owned an AD before I got the Virus, so I'm generally familiar with the sounds and have plenty of patches and a Bass ROM card to make use of, I just don't remember how good it was for pads and sounds that the Snow can't do very well. The Akai should be pretty useful for looping, plus I can sample the Snow sounds and cheat a bit. :)

Now totally ontopic hopefully: Is there something like a Soundbank für EMU's X-Treme Lead? Mine "died" recently ...

You can certainly buy the ROM card from an XL and fit it into another Proteus module, if that's what died?

Cheers,

EG
