Juho Lepist?'s Soundset Vol.1 v.1.5

1 Attachment(s)
My previous soundset sucked and all the blame goes for sounddriver for messing up my delay settings.

Now this improved sound set contains 128 patches and all delay settings are ok. This set contains some incredible pads and leads with some unique EFX (some pretty hilarious ones). This sound set has quite wide variety of diffirent type of sounds so this is somekind of all around sound set. It has something for everybody.

If you downloaded my previous sound set and didn't liked it I can say this is atleast BILLION ZILLION TEN MILLION times better. So give it a shot before you say my sounds are rotten.

Edit: The sounds are loaded in bank B.

What happened to your Virus? :?

I think there might have been a mix up at my dealer (Turnkey..in London). I was supposed to get a new Virus KC...but I think I was mistakingly given an ex-demonstration model. My KC had scuff marks on it and one of the knob caps worked loose within 2 days.....the cap came off :(

So im waiting for a 'NEW' one now hehe

how do you load a virus soundset into your virus?

AlexHall74 02.03.2005 09:42 AM

Juho,

Thanks for the re-vamped soundset.

If Sounddiver mangled your patches, I am fearfuil it will screw up mine or my virus as well.

Is there another app I can use to transfer patches into/out of my KC?

Thanks Bro!!!

Any MIDI sequencer will do. That's the best way to store and load patches. It works exactly like it should, unlike Sounddiver that behaves differently depending on wind conditions.

Just set the loading method from the Control menu (MIDI RX), disable possible SysEx filter from the sequencer and off you go. To get the patches individually just slow down the tempo.

An example of one-by-one loading method:

1. Set the MIDI RX setting from Control menu to EditBuffer (or similiar, can't recall it)
2. Load the bank MIDI file to a sequencer.
3. Check that there is no SysEx filter activated on the sequencer.
4. Set the tempo to really slow (40bpm or even less)
5. Now start the playback. The patches should load one by one to your Virus' edit buffer (if you seem to get only one patch, the playback is too fast. Try to slow down the tempo more). Pause the playback when a patch is loaded and if you like the patch, store it (if you're loading my soundset, you'll have to store frequently... or not). Then just start the playback again until a new patch is loaded and pause.

That's it; I'm coming to Finland to whoop some Juho ass!!! :x

Please don't project your fantasies of being the Gimp in a maximum security penetentiary onto me; it's OK that you want to be lots of people's leather ass-boy, just keep it to yourself and take it easy... 8O

yo juho....could you go into more detail of how you could load an entire soundset by way of a midi sequencer?

1. Control menu -> MIDI RX -> Force to bank X (X is A or B, depending on which bank you wish the new bank to be loaded in)
2. Play the MIDI on average tempo.
3. Done.

If I keep it to myself, then where's all the fun! For example look at Hollowcell: He has probably the widest collection of dwarf porn on earth and he doesn't share it and he's no fun.

Nigel Harkness 02.03.2005 07:13 PM

Probably a stupid question but should you be able to load these soundsets in the TI whenever the hell it arrives?

MADSTATION 02.03.2005 07:16 PM

Nigel: Yes you will be able!

I wish I still had a virus to test that soundbank...

I've heard some of the best trance leads are in there hahhahaha
:P

Looking forward to hear and play with the patches, hopefully by the end of 2005!

Thou art correct, keeping filthy, unsubstantiated, and disrespectful remarks to one's self is no fun at all.

Your point is well taken, Juho!

I hope you know I was only kidding, except for the Gimp part.

And as far as HC having the world's largest collection of dwarf porn available AND not sharing...this is a major dilemma.

Is there anything that you think he will barter for it, besides a V-synth?

Does anyone know how to disable the SysEx filter in Cubase SX2? I tried a load of different things and went through the manual but nothing worked. My Virus is recieving somekind of data but the sound dosn?t change. Well finally i gave up and saved a copy of the soundset MIDI-file with a much slower tempo setting and played it in Windows Media Player and that worked fine. I quess Cubase is set up wrong or something :?

By the way; nice work Juho :D

Weird. It should work. Sometimes the most obvious thing is wrong: Is the channel and MIDI port correct?

MIDI port and channel are right (same as globalchannel). The really weird thing is that it works the other way round. I can record a SysEx dump with no problems at all but when i send it back to the Virus, the display just says "SE" every time a message is sent and nothing happens but apparently the Virus recives some kind of data. Now i?ve been fidling with this for several hours and i can?t take any more menus and settings now. What the f*ck is wrong with this shit and why does it work with windows media player??? AAARRRGGHHHHH  Maybe i?ll try and move the Virus to my soundcards MIDI port to check if it?s my MIDI interface that?s fucking up the SysEx messages :?

Juho L 10.03.2005 07:10 PM

I think you have the MIDI DUMP RX settings wrong. Check the Control menu for MIDI DUMP RX.

techno_7 11.05.2005 06:34 PM

These sounds are great i have had a lot of fun with them...i especially like some of the fx's you put in there like "TheWell" or "Sick"
