re: HANGING NOTES!!! HELP!!!!

Firstly, i have to say that the Virus is an outstanding synth. Sadly, it's a shame that there are problems with TI. I've managed to irradicate most problems, the one that one dissappear is hanging notes and poor midi response. I use the analog outs as the latency i encountered using USB was unworkable. PLEASE SORT OUT THE HANGING NOTES!!!! PLEASE!

quite a few of us still get the hanging notes issue. I get this quite a bit when stopping cubase mid sequence. What are you system specs including daw software?

hang notes

i'm using a dual 2.0 G5 running Logic 7. i also get it when i stop mid sequence. the hanging notes are very frustrating :(
at the moment it seems like i'm using a Virus with No Integration.

whenever it happens i just hit the panic button on the virus and keep working, it doesnt really cause too much trouble, it doesnt happen so frequently as to stop me recording a sequence...if it happens during record (very rarely) i just hit panic and try again. this is using the analogue outs and usb midi without virus control in cubase sx2.2 on pc.

how often is this happening?, how many channels of virus are you running simultaneously?

ive also got my virus plugged into its own pci usb2 card which seems to help.

have a nice day

Yes the Hanging Notes Anonymous is about to accept members, otherwise known as HNA. The DAA has enjoyed good membership I think 2 from memory. There may even be a free t-shirt in it if it grows enough.

On a more serious note, I was recording midi parts to wav recently and examining the timing. USB with Virus Control was all over the place with some notes missing by 7ms and others on time. USB with no VC was no better. No USB with midi cable in was more consistent in timing yet varying from 1ms to 4ms. In the end I hand edited all wav parts at the beat level to complete a project. I used hit mode to automate the process of a kik drum parts then used audio quantise.
