I wish i could afford every piece.

I had to sadly passup a machinedrum for only $500.00 brandnew

ok now im sad hehe..

New one goes for around $1200.00 to $1500.00 USD

Blank 08.09.2003 12:47 PM

im not sure but i think i would rather buy a new clavia synth for that!!

monomachine looks awesome but i have not heard as many good things about elektron as i have clavia

Remember the Commodore-64?

Hehe..

The machinedrum is not a clavia. If clavia could make a better drum machine...I'd be surprised.

Now I saw the price for the thing. They are going to sell them at 1900USD! 8O It is only up to 6 part multi timbral/polyphony. But it has a sequencer, you could make a song with just the monomachine. It also has all new synthesis structures. You'd be buying something totally new, and would be getting sounds never heard before.

The voice synthesis machine makes vowels and consonants. What I heard from it, it sounds like a speak and spell. But there are some FM synthesis and some other digital synthesis like a SID emulator (without the noise). There is also a beat box synth.

It is overpriced. (A machinedrum for 500 is a steal. Sorry.) I would not buy the thing mainly because I need something else and it is too expensive. I would like to see a cheaper kb-less model. We'll see how the winter goes for elektron.

I have heard demos. But they say don't tell anyone where. It sounds ok. I could post the email I got. It is kind of long.

Email me if you want to hear it or read the email I got from elektron. I don't want to get yelled at.

i've owned 2 sidstations - both with diffrent types of sid-chips in them.. i loved 'em but had to sell 'em because of moneyproblems :( and i've owned a Machinedrum which is also really nice (even if i didn't make any drumloops with it - mostly used as an synthesizer :) )

if your into the sid-sound check this out then: www.hardsid.com (4 sidchips = 4 sidstations on one soundcard with an easy to use editor and so on - i was going to buy one but my computer broke down and since i haven't got a computer to put that one in)

I just love Elektron's stuff - and the monomachine will probably be really odd but cool too - but i've heard that it will cost ALOT..

Slightly off topic, but check http://www.mbnet.fi/jutut/assembly2003/tulokset/ and download C64 songs under "Oldskool-musiikki" section. Not bad I say.

Also try "64k Intro" to check out what 64kB programs can do.
