Fat Bass
Hi, guys!
Sorry if this question have been asked befor, but here it goes. I've been tweeking my head (and my Virus C's knobs) off trying to get a really fat, punchy bass sound. When I record my basslines in Sonar, I also add some EQing and compressor. It makes it a little bit better, but it's not quite as punchy as you often hear in pro quality trance tracks. So I've been using bassnote samples in most of my tracks for now. I wolud however like to tweek my own bass sounds. Got any tips? Thanks! |

Yes, I know all about the envelope settings, so that's really not the problem. I've also been playing around with the sub oscillator, unison, distortion and EQ settings. I even tried layering several patches. Sure I get some ok bass sounds, but...argh!
Thanks anyway. |
Mate its all about Layering it with basslines!
Just make good use of the EQ and have maybe a subbase layerd behind your bass and even a loc cut acid bass just Eqed out nicly! I used to have shit loads of problms making basslines but serious its all about layering!! Good luck :D |
yeah i agree
in most tracks i use about 3-4 layers of bass... |
