I've got a slight problem with Sounddiver
I've connected all the MIDI cables to my computer from my indigo II
and it works when I download an OS through Cubase SX, wich would actually mean that the connection - those between - works. But Sounddiver doesn't seem to be able to communicate with the virus. It says I should check the cables. And... my question is: Does anyone recognise this problem? |
Soundiver is a funny thing. I recognise this problem. What I find you have to do is to "force" Soundiver to transmit and receive MIDI. Sometimes it just needs a little push. Check all your MIDI connections (both in and out) are transmitting. If you've found you've had to change any MIDI connections while Soundiver is running, shut it down and start it up again so it can detect the new settings.
Just try to send and receive patches and make sure your MIDI thru is off. My Soundiver lies to me sometimes, it tells me It can't detect a device attached but when I transmit stuff, it lets me. |

Just a little question: Were do I change the MIDI thru? I know what it is, but in Cubase I have that option checked. |

My MIDI thru is a button on my midisport 2x2 interface. If you can transmit MIDI data to cubase, there should be no reason why it shouldn't transmit to Soundiver. You should have a picture of a Virus connected to a PC when you open Soundiver. I transmit and receive patches by clicking on toolbar "open device", it then shows all the patches in the banks of the Virus, then I just highlight a patch, right click and choose transmit or receive. Make sure you've got both MIDI IN and OUT connecting the Virus to the PC. Are you able to download OS updates to the Virus? |

It just have to be something wrong with that program, because it works fine with Cubase SX, which I've been using everytime I've downloaded a new OS or the 1024 sound patches. |
