ordering 2morrow
 

ok folks im gonna order my virus kc or indigo2 tommorow (still undecided)
plus as mentioned in other threads a new sound card, probably audiophile usb2496

but im going to be using the virus in conjunction with a roland jv1080 (rack synth) controlled via my kiawa k4, which up to now was connected in a loop(thru) giving no realtime control over the jv

i want real time control over my jv and it seems to do this i need to stay away from its midi thru, so i guess i need to link jv and kiawa seperatly to sound card/midi interface......dows that sound right??

q1) im guessing virus plugs into sc midi i/o + im gonna need a min 2in 2out (jv and kiawa)midi interface.....Any suggestions as im a bit confused, there are 2/2, 3/3, 1/4, 3/8 etc????? do i just need a 2/2??or do i need a midi merge??


q2) if im right about the jv/kiawa setup and i connect each bit to the sc/midi interface via in an out, how do i go out making it control the jv now there is no midi connection to the 2 items other than the fact there both plugged into the midi interface....or is that all it needs??

Get 4x4 interface. There's room for expansion.

Then just connect every synth on its own sepperate port.
