Flexoffset says Hi from Alabama

I don't own an Access Virus C yet.
One reasoin I joined this forum is to initially lurk a bit and make sure I can successfully implement the Virus C in my humble home studio. I don't live near any high-end music stores so the closest Virus C is over 140 miles away.

I'll probably have to buy one 2nd hand, sight-unseen.

Anyway, I'm 32, an art director for an established large-format printing company and I write mostly instrumental electronic music on the side (I personally don't think I can sing). I have a three-year old daughter and a son to be born in mid-May of this year.

My influences range across the board from Acoustic Blues, to Classic Rock, to various types of Breakbeat, and other electronic music.

The only hardware I have is a Korg DW8000, and an M1, and I recently bought a Yamaha Motif ES6. I really prefer hardware synths vs the many soft synths I own and I'm trying to build a collection of various new and vintage hardware.

Well, that's about it.

Well I bought a Virus C

I bit the bullet. I couldn't find anyone that said anything bad about this synth so I bought one. It'll be here in a few days.

I am excited, to say the least!!!!

How is that motif? Me, like you, dont have the ability to live just next to a music store so that I just can try it by myself either. I personally own the EX5 (old cousin to the Motif, if you didn't know) but maybe it's time to upgrade.

I really like my Motif ES.
I really like my Virus C.
The two synths are really nothing alike in my opinion.
The Motif ES has 128 notes of polyphony, which is very nice.
The two work together wonderfully. I posted some music of my Motif (and also of the Virus C) in the user-music submissions thread here: http://www.sunesha.nu/virusforum/viewtopic.php?t=1981

The songs aren't finished or polished, etc. but feel free to listen to if you like.

The Motif ES has very good bass lines and it has many excellent patches (voices).
