I am trying to get a handle on how you store sounds on the rack xl. I can
see now how you can only store new sounds on banks a and b. My
question is, once they are stored how do you put them in your favorites catagory?

Favourite categoring is done in the control menu (or maybe in edit?). Flip it through and you'll find it. The categorising is saved in the patch so after you've selected the preferred catgories for a patch, you'll have to save that patch.
