free spectrum analyser for Windows XP ?

I'm looking for a free spectrum analyser for Windows XP. Does anybody know an URL? I think a spectrum analyser will help me a lot to understand some synthesizer sound design issues.

you can download a demo from the "waves" software company
the mixing pack has the paz analyzing tools

Check out the Inspector from ElementalAudio, it's a simple but wikid plugin
for rms/peak analysis, it doesnt eats up your cpu, and it's FREE.

Don't forget to check out other cool tools in "products" section...

Btw,
PAZ analyzer tip:
everytime you load it, you need to click twice on the "40hz" button untill it
shows you "10hz", otherwice you can't see what's up with your low-end below 250hz.

:D

Peace.

I have two that I found.

The first is probably the best, and it's all freeware. It's called "Wave Tools", and includes a spec-an, an o-scope, audio meter, etc.: http://mda.smartelectronix.com/utilities.htm

The second not quite as well made, but the same general idea. "Oscilloscope for Windows": http://polly.phys.msu.su/~zeld/oscill.html

They both seems to be a little bit oldskool, 1997 stylee :)

I've tried various ones and for some reason, the one I prefer is the eq visualization in winamp(the standard one, with the freq bars)...
I'd LOVE to find a plugin for winamp so it can "capture" the output of my ASIO soundcard and analyze the freqs in realtime! That way I could have it in a corner with the option "always on top" and it would analyze any channel that i would solo...

I'm sure this can be done!

Anyone?

No doubt, but they do the job (which isn't that sophisticated), and you can't beat the price.

Izotope Ozone, if you turn on the eq and use ctrl click it solos the freq.
Snap shots, matching, flexible ballistics etc etc. It's not free.
Or Voxengo Curve eq. Not free.
Voxengo has Span which is free, but not as good as the other two.

Voxengo has an amazing equing tool which anylize freqs in real time and also have a 5 band eq so its perfect.
