Sounddiver and the 1024 bank update...

I'm having some trouble with sounddiver since I used the 1024 (second) update.

Sounddiver communicates fine with the Virus, but when communication is over, nothing happens. The screen stays empty instead of showing me the banks.

Any suggestions on how to solve this? Everything worked fine before the 1024 update...

Have you read the sound diver manual?

When I first installed sound diver I got straight in and figured I would be able to work it out, but I couldnt......so I read the manual. Now it works.

Plus you can do all the usual stuff.......make sure you have the latest OS (for your computer), make sure you have the lastest version of sound diver, re-install the 1024 bank update. check your MIDI cables.

Alot of people have trouble with sound diver. I have never had a problem, but basically, if it dont work for ya, I would advise just leaving it alone. It is very unpredictable and I have heard people losing their sounds that they have programmed.....

Good luck mate!

P.S Also do a search within the forum......Heaps of people have had trouble and there are literally hundreds of posts regarding sound diver.

Well, I had no problems at all until the 1024 update.

I've sorted it out by pressing esc when it reads from the virus, and manually requesting the memorybanks instead... :)

My Virus didn't come with a Sound Diver manual and I have not been able to find one. Where did you get this manual?

there have been reports about this before (especially from mac users). i would recommend to use your sequencer or windows media player or Midi-ox

Well, I had no problems updating to the 1024 bank. The problem is requesting banks on SD startup after the update :)

i can't see why the update should affect the request/response mechanisms. in fact, the update does not contain any code. it's only replacing the demo song by 4 additional patch banks

You should be able to download it from the Virus website, in PDF format. I think it is automatically loaded when you install Sound Diver, or download Sound Diver......

It is not a physical manual, it is a PDF file...
