Sequencing the Virus
Ok, I've now played with my Indigo 2 a few days, and now I want to sequence it from my Yamaha Rm1x.
I've run into a strange problem: I'm working in either Multimode og single-multi mode (I've tried both). I've made 3 simple phrases on 3 different midi channels on the RM1x: Channel 1: x...x...x...x... Channel 2: ..x...x...x...x. Channel 3: x................. Now the problem is that the Virus only plays back one note at a time. The Rm1x is sending on 3 different midi channels, and the Virus is recieving on the same 3 channels. It seems that as soon a new note is played, the previous one is cut... Any suggestions on how tol solve this problem... it's really annoying me! :c) |
Well, I guess if you're using a lot of unison in voices, it's possible that you're running out of polyphony, but that's probably not the case. I don't know anything about your Yamaha unit, but my guess would be that it's sending note-off's. You should check out your list of MIDI events and check for these first. Also make sure the patches you're using in the virus aren't monophonic.

Hmmm, maybe I solved it myself...
It seems that the 'program change' I inserted cuts the note!! Any tips on how to avoid this then? :) |
Oh, BTW thanks for your reply, didn't see it because I was writing my own :)
No, I'm not using up polyphony, I have a standard bass and a kicksound and some strange patch I made myself :) |
