How long does it take you to make a track
 

I undertsnad some people start someday, add a few parts later on, then continue, then leave it aside for a month or two, do something else, and come back with a fresh mind about it, add, leave, etc :)
While some concentrate on one song non-stop.

Wich way produces the best resuslts in your oppinion.
And if you add it all up, how much time do you spend working on a single track including composing, aranging, 'bug-fixing', and finalyzing your work. How much time do you put into each?

I usually have 2 or 3 tracks on the go at once and it depends which style to how long it takes to finish them.

I will not listen to the track for a few days before mixing and mastering.

I don't thing there is a good or bad method with how people get their music all finalized - different methods for different people.

EDIT: Just realised I didn't answer your question. Hehe. Tracks take me (from start to mastered finish) anywhere from 2/3 days to 3 weeks. I usually spend many hours before hand programming sounds though.

it takes me 2 days to weeks to write tracks.
But with the sound programming, i cannot even start writing any tracks.
sound programming-g2, virus, mx4, moogmodular v, reaktor session, ya sh-32 is catching dust. :lol:

I dont think I even have a "finished" track yet.......I have other peoples finished tracks, but of my own, I never seem to be able to complete them. There is always something more to do, or I just get sidetracked and busy and then start a new project.....

I think I need to hire a personal assistant.

takes me months. I usually get really pissed off with a track after working on it for a couple weeks and then I start a new one. Sometimes a few months later I go back to it and like it again, but usually I just end up hating it and never finish it.

Same problem in here.

When I first started, I used to try to get it all done as soon as possible. What a mistake that was :oops: I have learnt the error of my ways now and take my time a little more.

I done a lot of reading on forums which I can not tell you how much this has helped.

Don't forget to enjoy yourself, that's the main thing...

Arrgghhh...theres nothing worse than doing a track quickly. You listen to it next day and it sounds terrible. Spread it out over a couple of weeks and your more likely to get something that sounds good. Well in my experience anyway. Hmmm but I do have limited song writing experience...but im learning.
