Strings wanted [unsolved]

Since I am still a greenhorn in sound desining, I need your help.
I'm trying to make a string-sound, that should be close to the one you can listen to here: http://<a href="http://www.stud.uni-...trings.mp3</a>.
All sounds I have made so far sound kind of hard and are rather techno-style and to "electric". I've also uploded my best two strings on this site - but they simply don't mach it. Can you plz tell me what I'm doing wrong and give me some advice?

Thanx

If I had to make a sound like that, I would just use my Yamaha or Roland synth. I suppose It's pretty hard to get something that sounds pretty acoustic or "realistic" out of a VA.

I would have to agree....the Virus is an amazing synth, but it doesnt quite do everything. Have you got something like a Triton or Motif? Or just sample some strings you like and play them through a soft-sampler....

I normally use my Motif Rack for anything like strings, piano's, anything orchestral, and acoustic drums....

Good luck!

Yep, if you don't have a Rompler of any sort, then the only option other than that is to buy a nice sample CD and multi-sample.

Any time I use strings or play around with classical compositions I use the sampler.

EDIT: I just uploaded a small string peice I made a few months ago to Soundclick (link in my signature). That track was made from multi-sampled strings. It's good for a laugh, but it also represents what the sampler can do. Listen in HI-FI to get the orchestral stereo image. Free laugh at Hollowcell for ya.

EDIT2: The track is called "Wet Earth". Sweet name isn't it? hehehe.

Thanx for your advices. I think I'm gonna try out what hollowcell recommended or I'll simply use the strings on my stagepiano.
