I only need max 200 watts per side at 8 ohms and this will more than do the job.. Does anyone have any other suggestions?? What do you use to power your monitors/pa speakers??

Phase Response (degrees at 1 watt) at 10 Hz: _ 10. at 20 kHz: +19. Signal-to-Noise Ratio (20 Hz to 20 kHz) A-weighted, below rated power: > 100 dB. No weighting, below rated power: > 95 dB. Total Harmonic Distortion at full bandwidth power,20 Hz to 1 kHz: < 0.5%. Intermodulation Distortion (60 Hz and 7 kHz at 4:1)fulloutputto_40dB:<0.3%. Damping Factor (8 ohm) 10 Hz to 400 Hz: >200. As combining different Amps with Monitors will give vastly different results Im afraid Im of no help here, I am using powered monitors, and just an old Technics A-Class amp for my Hi-Fi I think the general rule is: Amp needs to be at least 1.5 times the power (in Watts) than the speakers, to allow for good headroom. Just keep that in mind. |
Jensen SPX-9 Quad 5"2 Way Floor System :)YUp they are Hi fi speakers but they have a ten year warranty on them against overpowering !!!

for AU$500 I'd be looking at second hand pro hi-fi amp. I bought a 'studio amp' for AU$750 but after carful listening I prefer an old Luxman amp or the like.
Best thing would be to learn about amps, buy reading heaps of technical details of the design of amps. What is Class-A or Class B or differential and negative feedback? Good luck. |
