Controlling variations in a sound
Hello all, just trying to wrap my brain around this amazing instrument, and have (what is probably) a very basic question. I am going through the manual and have tweaked a sound. It is an arp based patch that is synced to my sequencer running at 120 bpm. The problem is that the sound keeps changing everytime I press the key - ie the first time I press the key, I like the patch, then I press the key and the patch has chanced - perhaps more lpf this time, next time so much filter that the first two noises in the patch don't sound. Something is dynamically changing the sound of the patch, so that even I don't make any other tweaks to the sound, it still is changing itself. So my question is - How do I get a sound to stay static after I make all the tweaks I like to it? You don't have to tell me exactly how to do it (especially if it is a little complicated) but rather if you can point me in the right direction (ie look at the LFO and do this) then I will do research on it and figure it out.
Thanks for any help with this. |
go into the Mod matrix section, and set the amounts of the LFOs to +0, this will turn modulation off for that destination read the manual more in this section to find out more about how to do it

Maybe the velocity routed to something wrong...

It's hard to tell without hearing the sound in question, but at a guess, I'd say it's the Velocity sensitivity too. Maybe it's rotued to the filter cutoff to cause that filter closing as you mentioned.

You say it sounds like your LPF has increased? It could be tied to an LFO. Maybe it's in a different part of its cycle every time. Try setting the LFO to retrigger everytime a key is pressed. Or take it out altogether. That might stop it!

I would check the mod matrix for any Source: VeloOn; Dst: Cutoff...Sounds like depending on how hard you are hitting the key it is changing the cutoff...unless the LFO 2 filter modulation is set to S & H...if that is the case then you would want to turn that off...

Thanks guys, I will give those things a shot tonight and will let you know how it turns out.
