What software arpeggiator to use?
Hey everyone,
I am wondering what would be a good software arpeggiator to buy. It seems like the arpeggiator on my KC is not at all programmable. Is there a good software app, VST, or other program to use with Cubase SX2 to generate some killer, trancey arpeggiations? Thanks for any info! 8) |
i think there is a simple built in arp plugin in cubase! not sure tho!

belive me I've tried all the software arps there are.
Nothing will do what the virus arp does in your DAW. One thing that I tried and gave up on was using EnergyXT with it's own arp, but the problem was that VST didn't like outputing a 'vsti' midi stream to a hardware output. I't only worked with the help of a 'vst to midi out' plugin by tobybear but even then it sounded crap with anything over 12ms latency in your Asio card. Due to VST buffering vsti plugins including 'live' midi intended for your hardware synths! Your pretty patterns on low latency sound like a train de-railment at higher Asio latencies. Short Answer: It sounded wicked, but I couldn't get a big song going due to cpu problems at low latencies. If someone could please write a software arp that sits outside of the DAW using midi-yokes etc, that would be better. |

Hmmmmm.... Looks like I am going to hack with the KC arp a bit more to see if I am just dense as it seems others are happy with it. The Cubase one needs to be investigated too. Thanks you all for the info! Happy jamming! 8) |
