Multi-Mode Questions....

How do you use it... yah, I know that seems like a stupid question... but the manual makes no sense (and I know how to program my virus)... but I can't for the life of me figure out how to layer multi patches or even save them for that matter. If you can answer my question or show me another forum where this might have already been addressed (because Im sure, with the manual in 90% english, 10% german... theres a bit that seemed to miss the proofreaders eyes... cough cough)

Try doing a search here.....Im sure there have been many posts about Multi-mode.

What exactly are you having trouble with??? Multi-Mode is good when working with sequencers (Cubase, Logic etc...) in that you can have 16 channels of Virus simultaneously. You can also use 16 different parts, on the same MIDI channel if you wanted, to layer up your sounds.

Just switch the Virus into Multi-Mode, go into the edit menu and choose your single sounds

Good luck mate!

:)

I want to play different programs at the same time... like make an arpeggio do one thing in one program... get another program and make that one do another arpeggio to a different rhythm... and another and another... polyphony isnt a concern for me... I make my sounds sound huge with just one to three notes. I dont use sequencers... and I dont use MIDI to control my synth... it all has to be controlled by the keyboard.

can you do this on 16 different channels?

No. The Virus is a 16 part synth. If you wanted to do that then you would need to have a 256 part synth.

The only way you could do this is set up your MIDI channel 1 with your 16 layered sounds, bounce to audio, then set your next one etc......

Thats correct! If you have your patch names loaded into SX, on the left side of the screen when you click on your MIDI channel, there is a section there where you can scroll through banks A-H and choose your 16 different parts for your 16 different MIDI channels
