Help! virus kb panel buttons working incorrectly

I have a virus kb. My problem is that the buttons on the left of the
panel are not functioning correctly. The EFX button will not work
sometimes, and on other occassions it will just switch to itself automatically. Pressing the transpose buttons causes the synth to change from single to multi. All the LFO buttons do not work properly and when pressed call up functions such as the arpeggiator. I don't know what is wrong. The instrument has not suffered any damage from transportation and has not been dropped. Has anyone experienced this problem before? Would they have any idea what might be wrong?

All help is appreciated,

joe

Sounds like you got ripped off!

Did you buy 2nd hand? How long have you had the Kb for??

The only thing I can think is that the Virus is recieving some MIDI/control messages, perhaps from your computer, and is making it go crazy.

You should contact Access tech support.

Good luck!

:)

Hey Joe, and welcome to virusforum.

I would try posting your problem on the access mailing list:
http://www.ampfea.org/mailman/listinfo/access-list

sounds like a nasty prob you have there - hope it sorts itself out for you.

cheers

Thanks for the help.
I had a look at the ampfea and someone had the same problem back in 2002 so I'm not the only one. Whether I can contact this person to see how they solved it I'm not sure. So far access tech support suggested a hardware reset. I haven't done this yet as work kept me away from home the last couple of nights but I will this evening. However, I think the guy who posted to ampfea had tried this and it didn't work. I think myself it is some sort of a hardware problem, where something might be short-circuiting or there is a loose connection. I'm a little reluctant to open my virus but I think I'll have to. If I can spot some obvious problem then I'll be ok.
thanks again,
joe

problem solved

I tried the hardware reset by holding down the lfo1 shape parameter button while I powered up the keyboard last night and it seems to have worked. I'm glad it solved. Thanks everyone for all the help,
joe
