Random Chaotic Noise

you guys ever find, when youre programming a patch that, sometimes, it stops playing notes and it seems to go crazy and momentarily spit out chaotic ear piercing highly unpleasurable noise??

Ive had it happen with some of my patches, especially ones where I use lots of phaser, fm and ringmod with the resonance high... it usually happens when I do a filter cutoff sweep.

Its not too much of a problem... just something Ive encountered when programing my KC... anyone else run into the same phenomena?

Random clicks/pops and sparks....I used to find these ohh soo very pleasurable at high volumes when near the speakers.

I have and it is the phaser, not sure why, just try turning the phaser right down when it happens and it'll go away, you'll see.

watch out from the phaser feedback.

Check your distortion/saturation models.

BitReduction, RateReduction, and Shaper can be pretty nasty at times. I love the BitReduction model, though, but can be crazy when overdone, and can also detrimentally affect any filter sweeps in the lower freqs when pushed to the max (the sound will just fizzle and then mute itself when you sweep downwards past a certain cutoff freq).

I have the same problem with my virus_a, i dunno wtf is that...

:?:

maybe its the dark forces taking over your synth.

I get it too with high resonaces. I guess it?s because i hit the resonance frequensy when sweeping the filter and if using phaser at the same time (usually it?s just around a surtain note i get it). The phaser may hit the resonace frequensy and then the feedback amplifies it and that can get pretty nasty som times. Many times you can get around this problem by turning up the filter keyfollow to +32 and adjusting the filter until it goes away (usually a very small adjustment). This will cause the filterfrequensy to follow the key pressed so that you will never (or always if prefered) hit this resonace frequensy...

@ Onkel Dunkel ,
Thnks man, i checked out my preset, and there's just a little bit of resonanse
turnrd on, and i wish i had those new effects in my oldskool virus_a...

Now i've noticed that it happens only when virus plays 2 channels
at same time, one channel is a 4 note chord with filter controller, and
the 2'nd channel is my bassline that plays 2 notes at once + 4 controller
tracks. The polyphony of my Virus_A is 12 notes, so i guess it's not it, or it is...

@ BlakeLight,
Did you figured out how to get rid of those noises ?

Dunno wtf, it was ok all the time, i can't
even resample/bounce the shit downa...

:(

The problem i?m refering to only occurs with high resonace settings so i guess it?s not the same problem we are talking about. Start with C127 and turn the resonance all the way up and the cutoff to 69 (i think; maybe higher or lower) and strike C3 on your keyboard (remember to turn down the volume  ). Now you know what i?m talking about. Your problem dosn?t seem to be the same. Maybe, of course, the two sounds hit the same resonace frequensy witch amplifies eachother
