DIFFICULT LATENCY PROBLEM
still pretty clueless elctronic musician here.
have a Delta 1010 soundcard. PC computer running LOGIC 5.5. i have WINDOWS XP home edition. i have gotten this setup after reading Tweeks GREAT OPINION of this setup. certainly sounds great. BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have recently bought BATTERY 2, MICROTONIC drum softsynth. I also have NOVATION DRUMSTATION, and the drum sounds off synths such as ROLAND XV-88, KORG TRITON. to test the MIDI timing of softsynth drums vs hardware synths, i have a kick drum playing every chrotchet beat on the followoing tracks. BATTERY 2 MICROTONIC ROLAND XV-88 TRITON NOVATION DRUMSTATION. unfortunately ROLAND XV-88, TRITON and NOVATION DRUMSTATION are sounding quite a deal behind the softsynths (BATTERY 2, MICROTONIC) i infact have the hardware drumsynths playing at these points in one bar which is looped. 1 1 1 1 1 2 1 1 1 3 1 1 1 4 1 1 i have to (via the event list editor) place the softsynth drums at these points of the bar 1 1 1 80 1 2 1 80 1 3 1 80 1 4 1 80 FOR THE HARDWARE and SOFTWARE to match. crikees that seems an awful difference between the 2. I use the MIDISPORT 8*8, for my hardware drumsynth sounds. COULD THIS BE CAUSING THE PROBLEM, OR IS IT THE SOUNDCARD. i know the LOGIC has an adjustment for audio and MID but this difference between softsynth and HarDWARE seems huge. Is what i am experiencing, normal. am i stuck , and need to get the UNITOR or the AMT midi interface, or is it the DELTA soundcard with its |
I'd check the latency setting on your Delta card first. You can find this setting in the Delta control panel.
