1024 patch update question on Virus Classic
 

I have a brand new Virus Classic. I first did the update to the latest OS available from the Access site and then after downloading and installing the 1024 patch update "second_cl_1024.mid" using a SysEx dump from a ProTools midi track I see that the patches in the G bank and the H bank are identical (both in name and the sounds).

Has anyone else experienced this?

Every thing else seems to be working fine.

i have experienced exactly the same pb......but it's not really a pb!

I actually spoke to one of the sound designers who did most of the patches in the H bank and he told me that this situation is incorrect - the G and H banks should each have their own seperate patches. The probable cause was someone just made an error in prepairing the 1024 update file on the Access site so that the H patches are duplicated in the G bank.

I am waiting for an email from him with a library file for SoundDiver with the correct patches for the H bank so I can install those over the duplicates that are there now.

I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced the same thing to make sure it wasn't just something I had done wrong since I am relatively new to this sort of synth OS and patch updating complexity.

So far this classic has just blown my socks off with how good it all sounds!

i just got a virus classic as well but haven't installed the 1024 patch update cause i can only see banks A-D so where should i install the other patches , there wont be enough space......i have the latest operating system so where are these missing banks?

i have it too, and after the patch G and H are the same banks. :(

When you install the 1024 patch update it will erase the demo song from the Virus and use that space for the four additional banks E-H instead.

You may find that Banks G and H are duplicates of each other (unless they have corrected this error in the patch file by now). Bank H should actually be a different set of patches. Even with the duplication you get 3 new sets of 128 patches and free up the space used by the demo song for your own use.
