What do you think of this one? Saw it in a magazine, it looks awesome! But is it 430 dollars worth?

Keep in mind that i have no mic(over 10$) and would really like one. Besides, my minidisc player is broken.

vvanrij 09.09.2005 07:30 PM

Ahh come on, just save your money, get a nice lil mic and a preamp and you'l have better quality for less munny

techno_7 09.09.2005 07:37 PM

Then i'd only be able to record at home!
I appreciate your oppinion but i'd like a PORTABLE mic and i wanted to know if this is a good one. Sorry if i haven't explained myself good enough.

vvanrij 09.09.2005 08:02 PM

Yes kinda misunderstood you there :D Thought you just wanted to be quick with an all in one :?

Anyway, can't really help you on this one, I'm more of a studio guy

I would have concerns about...

Mic quality:
I have never heard of a proffessional-standard internal mic. Can it really be good?

FX:
FX shouldn't be it's best feature.
My experience tells me that onboard 'extra' FX can be pretty average.
You can get all the VST FX you want anyway.

Storage:
Comes with just 64MB storage?!
That will get you 5 mins of recording. A nice 2GB card will set you back another $50.

Pick up a quality mic for $100
Do a little research and find out which portable MiniDisc recorder has a good reputation for its recording and buy one on Ebay.

I'm not a fan of all-in-one solutions.

How can you compare a shitty MD player to a 24 bit recorder :?:
