Manuals

Wow. All that discussion about the TI manual on the "Let's hear your opinions" thread, warrants a new thread me thinks. As the perpertrator of this particular can of worms, lets kick in with...

Screen shots - those dark-grey fuzzy rectangles do not constitute a screen shot. Lots of pretty diagrams and pictures make for happy manual munchers

Size -There are just NINE, half-size pages devoted to the TI software, mostly taken up with the aforementioned dark-grey fuzzy rectangles. This is complex software no? How many pages is the average plug-in synth manual?

Diagrams - At least one annotated diagram of the front panel overview is standard in every synth manual I have ever owned, but curiously absent in this one.

Beginners - Maybe this is my first ever synth; maybe my first ever electronic musical instrument. Maybe I'm just a baby. Please tell me what the midi thru port on the back does. What is the mod wheel for? What's the difference between a ROM patch and a RAM patch? If I didn't already know what that manual is trying to tell me, I'd be hopelessly lost.

Happy manual munching... 8O
