Thoughts on Reaktor 5???

Hi,

Just wondering what people think to NI Reaktor 5. I've seen some going cheap on Ebay and was wondering if it's worth getting. To be honest, the screenshots I've seen have looked a bit all over the place - what's it like to work with? What does it sound like?

I like reaktor's dark side, the digital sounds it can produce and its processing power.
If your looking for a VA you should look some place alse, its reproduce analog rather badly, very thin and plastic sounding there...
Working with it is comfortable and easy,
With my new computer I can run 8-10 heavy instances and still get cpu use at about 60-70% but if you have a weak computer you will max it out rather quickly.

Have fun auctioning :D

I'd be running Absynth and a few other plugins at the same time so my CPU might capsize I reakon.

I have Reaktor 4, i like it, but really, if you get it, it would be for the huge flexibility giving you the power to get just the sound you'd like. Especially in Reaktor 5 because you can go into the core cells(or whatever) and edit almost TOO much  . Well, the included esembles(instruments) can keep you entertained for the first month or so, but if you really want to use Reaktor it would be for extensive editing or creating all new synth and effect instances.
