only 2 st channels of audio via usb :(

hi there,

im happy with my ti desktop but i would be even more if it had as many audio outs in vcontrol mode as most of the multipart vsti's i use, such as sample tank or battery.

i find that having only 2 audio outs from vcontrol into cubase limits the possibilities of adding effects/eq's per part, as i expected 1 stereo out per part. i have to stick to the virus internal effects, and personaly i prefer my reverb/dlay/eq vst's.

do u guys think that more audio channels could be implemented in future soft firmware upgrades for the virus ti plugin?

thanx in advance

I think there was talk at one point that they may add more outs over usb with future updates, but, given the bandwidth limitatios of the usb 1 spec, I doubt we will get more than 1 or two more stereo outs over usb. Keep in mind you still have 3 more stereo analog outs that you can use as well.

thanx for the reply.
i can understand that it might be difficult to have more audio outs via usb since the ti also has to work as an audio interface in the same usb cable.
but i use my presonus firebox to do that, so all my usb bandwidth in the ti could be used to have more channels from the plugin into cubase.
i hope access can improve this already great product in the future with more flexibility for audio routing the vcontrol. i would be a 99% satisfied customer if it had 1 stereo out per part via usb. 8)

16 stereo parts?

As far as I know, the bandwidth limitations of USB v1 unfortunately don't stretch that far, or anywhere near it.

You can get 16 stereo outputs with Virus Powercore and 1 powercore dsp-card.

thats because PCI and also firewire bandwidth is much larger.
usb is very limited by the amount of channels its can stream at the same time and usualy can only do it in 44.1\16 bit.
access could always add 2 ADAT in\out out to a TI mk2 :D

Why didnt they make the TI with Firewire instead?

They are supposed to add a 3rd usb stereo out when not using the TI as a soundcard...Which would be great! I could use a total of 6 stereo out, in my opinion that is more than enough :)

As far as I know, I think they said that USB v1 was a well documented and established standard, and the tools to integrete USB1 and it's associated code were widespread and easily implemented. But the tools/documentation to do the same for Firewire/USBv2 weren't so.

And, of course, it also leaves the door open for a firewire-based Virus TI mk2 in a year or two. I think that was a bit cheeky. :)

It's a bit of a pain in the arse when trying to EQ certain midi parts :(

I know it has 3 band on every part but still a chore

Nice to see 4 stereo outs via USB
