VirusCOntrol . CUbase SX3.2. XP Pro. 512 Meg Ram 1.8 g

I'd have thought my system would run this easily. I bought the TI so I could have VST synths without eating processor power.

ANyway. THe TI is great. Wish the manula was better. Love to know how to do something asbout the light ont he back and some other system setting like editing the multi's etc. andyway. VIrusCONTROL...

when I load up Viruscontrol

1) there seems to be no way of actually hearing the sounds while you're
editing them,

2) it goes into sequencer mode, but your sequenced parts dont play
(where they did before)

3) once you've loaded VirusControl the TI stops acting as a controller
keyboard, even after you unload. In fact you have to re-boot.

While we're on the subject, aw word of advice. Install it in the VST
Instruments directory in Cubase directory. Not Program files where it
tries to install by default, otherwise CUbase will never find it and
VirusControl will not be in your VST Instruments list.

hey nighfall, I am using the ti with cubase sx (though my version is 3.1.1) and am not having any of those issues. What version of the TI os are you using?

Nightfall - where did you get version 3.2 of Cubase SX and what fixes has it got?

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing, but I think it may be a typo. I just checked Steinberg's ftp site and it wasn't there.

Sorry Lads, its version 3.1.1 Cubase. Which is the latest version I think.

The Ti software is 1.07. Downloaded it earlier this week. In fact I never actually used the version on the CD.

I've managed to get a little further with the Virus except it crashes after 30 mins or so. If I switch it off and on again it plays the VST synth sounds. HOWEVER, it stops acting as a midi controller.

Doc Jones 03.12.2005 02:53 PM

so, just to understand you correctly, you are getting audio out of the synth, but cubase is not registering any midi data from it? (ie, no midi data indicating which key is pressed or knob is turned?) If this the case, make sure you don't have any sysex filtering enabled in cubase. If that isn't the case, keep virus control off, connect a standard midi cable and see if it can transmit midi data the old way to cubase and let us know what you find out.
